I don’t think there is anyone in the Tampa Bay, FL area that needs to be reminded of how oppressively humid it can be here through the summer months. Luckily air conditioning reduces the relative humidity inside your home but the more humid it is, the harder your AC system works. Luckily there are easy to care for (and attractive) house plants that thrive on sucking the humidity out of your environment such as the Tillandsia pictured below. In fact they pull so much moisture from the air they often do not need soil or a root system.
